Last 3 Days to Make an Easy $25

This is the last time I am going to promote Revolution Money Exchange with a post. May 15th is the last day that this paypal-alternative is offering a free $25 just for signing up. Will they extend this deadline like they did last time??? I have no clue. I would think that their advertising/promotional money has to be drying up. Revolution Money exchange hopes to compete with paypal as a way to buy/collect money over the internet. This is completely safe as they are FDIC insured. There really is no reason NOT to sign up and become $25 richer.

Okay, that is my sales pitch of the day. I have continued to play around with some amateur SEO techniques that might eventually get me some easy traffic. Today I secured obamaclinton2008.wordpress.com I was surprised that is was still available. This addition adds to my “empire” that includes obamaclinton2008.blogspot.com Among the other names that I secured from wordpress are: obamabiden2008, obamaclark2008,obamawebb2008, obamasebelius2008, obamastrickland2008, obamakaine2008, obamanunn2008, mccainromney2008, mccaincrist2008, mccainportman2008, mccainthune2008, and mccainpawlenty2008. I might be crazy, but this only took 5 minutes of my time

Why don’t we leave our jobs?

Let’s be real here–most of us do not like our jobs. In fact, Less than half of Americans are satisfied with their jobs, according to a 2006 survey of 5,000 households recently released by the Conference Board (any true Office Space fan could have told you that without some fancy survey :) ) . So, why don’t we just get out there and find a new job that we will like better? I have identified 3 major reasons why we don’t in hopes that writing them down and publicizing them will help me in my personal quest to overcome these rather silly excuses.

“Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”
-Joshua J. Marine

1. Laziness and Lack of TIme–Looking for a new job can require a rather large investment of time. Are you ready to make that commitment? For me, one of the hardest things for me to do when I get home from work (or when I am off) is to start searching for jobs. Instead, it is much easier to relax and use my time for more fun things. To overcome this, I need to designate specific times that I will use to job search.

“Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must be overcome first.”

2. Belief that Things Will Get Better–Having a positive attitude is certainly a good thing. Burying your head in the sand is not. I am a very positive person–always looking at the glass as half full. Even though I believe that this is a good quality to possess, in this situation it is a detriment. I believe that any objective observer would advice me that I have exhausted my healthy dose of positive thinking and now must graduate to the acceptance stage.

“In order to be walked on, you have to be lying down.”
- Brian Weir

3. Fear of the unknown–Will I like my new job? Will I still be happier in a year? Who will i sit with at lunch? WIll this company go bankrupt in two years? How will I get along with my new boss? All of these are valid questions. However, the real question remains, will I analyze them to death and do nothing or take a risk on something that might be great.

“Accept challenges, so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory.”
-George S. Patton

Okay, thank you for sharing in my therapy session :)

About a year ago, I was trying to be clever and set up blog names that might lead to easy traffic. One of them is obamaclinton2008.blogspot.com Today I was going through some old bookmarks and came across this forgotten site. I added a post linking this blog and will monitor any hits it generates. I wonder how much traffic I would get if that Obama/Clinton actually becomes the ticket? Currently, if you google obamaclinton2008, my blog is on the first page. I will keep you updated on this subject. Anyone ever do something like this with good results? Let me know.

Blogging for Money is a long term investment

Many bloggers (including me) started their blogs with the hopes of getting rich–probably rather quickly.  After reading blogs from John Chow and ShoeMoney, I figured that I would  try to get a piece of the action.  If they could make thousands a month, couldn’t I make a couple hundred???  Well, it turns out that it is much harder than it looks to make money via blogging.  Let’s face it, at this point the internet is overly saturated with personal finance and making money blogs.  The only way you could face more competition on the web is if you started your own porn site.

So, I am giving up on blogging and advice all of you to do the same.  NO, it’s really not that much of a hopeless situation.  I now realize that when (and if) money is actually generated from this blog, hours of hard work must first be accomplished.  I must significantly increase my readership by continually producing valued posts.  Next, I will have to purchase my own domain (move on from wordpress) and then purchase a package from Hostgator or a similar company.  Finally, I will be able to put ads on my blog and maybe if I am lucky, my blog will actually generate some revenue.

Until I reach that point in the future, I will just continue blogging for fun and to get referrals for my programs.  Thus far, my blog journey has been a blast.  I get borderline euphoric every time someone comments on my site or I have a high traffic day.  Hopefully,  you will continue to join me on my path to making money with my blog.

Speaking of money, I have updated my Current Earnings Page.  As you can see Revolution Money Exchange has quickly become a top earner for me.

Getting Traffic to your Blog

As a new blogger, my number one challenge has to been drive traffic to my site. After all, what is the sense of all this typing if no one is going to read it. When you are starting off, you have no backlinks, no page rank, and no chance of showing up in a relevant Google search. So what have I have done so far to get some traffic.

1. Stumble Upon, Technorati, del.icoi.us, Reddit, Furl, Digg, Share This, and Propeller. As Brad Hamilton (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) would say, “Learn it. Know it. Live it.” You must register for all these sites and submit your blogs to them.

2. Comments and Blogrolls are your friends. Like a post on a popular blog, leave a comment on it. If your comment is relevant (”nice post” is not going to cut it), others might want to check out your blog. Blogrolls are simply a list of your favorite blogs that you put in your own blog. Just by doing this, some bloggers will notice that they are getting traffic from your site and return the favor. You can also ask other bloggers to add your site to their blogroll (something I haven’t had the nerve to do yet :) )

3. Become a Guest Blogger–Some sites are constantly looking for their readers to submit a guest post. I recently submitted a post to The Net Fool, a well established blog.

4. Join a Traffic Exchange Program–I just joined a site called ASD Cash Generator and have received some decent traffic from it. All you do is click on some ads and you get free traffic. I would not consider this high-quality traffic (these people are visiting your site to get credits for theirs). Still, I have generated referrals for my programs through this “un-targeted” traffic. Click on the banner below to check it out.

How I got started making money online

“It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.” “Only after disaster can we be resurrected”–Tyler Durden in Fight Club

Believe it or not, my life greatly resembles the main character in Fight Club (one of my all time favorites). No, I am not any kind of boxer or leader of Project Mayhem. Instead, both Tyler and my life changed after our apartments burnt down.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Two summers ago, I suffered a fire and lost everything I owned since I had no insurance (yeah, I know pretty stupid move). Due to the support and generosity of family and friends I was able to land back on my feet. However, I could not rely on them to completely recover financially–that is something I would have to do myself. As a result, I turned to the internet and started to check out GPT and survey sites. Before my fire, I had completely written off any online money making site as a total scam. Luckily, what started as a desperate move on my part has proven to be very profitable for me.

Well, thats my story. How did you get started in making money online??

Tax Stimulus Package Madness

Today at work, the water cooler topic was centered around the fact that some of my co-workers had received their tax rebates in their bank accounts. Without exception, those who received their package were borderline euphoric. Since my Social Security Number ends in 83, I will have to wait to share their joy. However, I was fascinated to hear their stories on how they would use the money. Some were planning to make a large purchase such as a piece of furniture or a flat screen tv. Others discussed what type of vacation they were planning. I did not hear any discussion about savings or starting an emergency fund–although one said that they would use the money to pay off one of their credit cards (a wise move indeed).

What am I going to do with my $600? It is going straight into my ING account (otherwise known as my unemployment fund). No, I am not going to frown upon anyone who is going to spend their package. In fact, I am all for spending it if that will bring you the most happiness. For me, after analyzing my life, I believe that for me to maximize my happiness level, I will need to get a different job. Since my logical side of my brain won’t allow me to just quit, I have decided to build up enough savings to compensate for a probable decrease in salary. Yes, I know this is kind of a boring thing to do with my stimulus package, but I know it will help me attain my goals and eventually enrich my life. Or maybe I will just spend a weekend in Atlantic City :)

Thank you to the 8 of you out there that tried out Revolution Money Exchange and made themselves an easy $25. Now what is stopping the rest of you? There really is no downside to trying this out–no catch. Why is this company giving away this money?? Revolution Money Exchange hopes to replace Paypal (who truly are evil) and believes that if they can get enough people to try their superior product out, that they will stay and tell their friends.

7 easy ways to save money

Since I continually discuss ways to make extra money, I should share some ways in which  I save money.

1.  I avoid vending machines–why pay $1.25 for a soda or 85 cents for a candy bar.

2.  I wash my own car

3.  I vowed not to pay another ATM fee–with just a little planning, this can be done

4.  I bought a thermos, and bring in my own coffee–Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are not your financial friends

5.  I pay my credit cards in full–why give you hard earned money to the credit card companies.

6.  I got rid of my long distance service–now use  my cell  phone instead

7.  I stopped buying as many DVD’s–even though I am a movie buff, I found that I would rarely watch most of the DVD’s in my collection.

In other news I finally completed the $100 treasure hunt at treasure trooper and have updated my current earnings page.

No raise for me this year!!

make money from home

I found out today that I will not be receiving a raise this year. My company feels that sales were too weak to justify raises. As difficult that is to swallow, I can understand it. I think everyone would agree that they would rather skip a year of raises, than have their company complete mass layoffs.

However, what does piss me off is that fact the my company’s CEO did get a raise and makes $14.4 million a year. If the company is doing so poorly, should he forgo his raise?? GRRRRRR.

On a happier note, many visitors of this site ask me what program they should try first to make money on the internet. My answer to them is always CashCrate. CashCrate is my favorite program because they have the best referral program in the business and there are several ways to easily make money. CashCrate has tons of offers and offers two daily research studies. If you were only to complete these research studies at CashCrate, you would make over $48 a month.

Easiest $25 I ever made

If you are like me, you have seen countless ads all over the internet for a new “pay-pal like” service called Revolution Money Exchange.  After seeing about 200 of these ads, today I finally clicked on one of the links to see what it is all about.  Well, I’m sure glad I did.  After looking over all the fine print (yes I am a skeptic) I decided to fill out the forms.  Two minutes later, I have $25 in my account.  I almost feel guilty.

This site is for Real!!!

Earn Money at ThisSiteIsForReal.com!

After seeing numerous ads for this relatively new GPT site, I decided to give it a try.  What an easy $10 and counting in about an hour.  Thissiteisforreal.com is a non-shiftcode site that has your typical offers.  What sets it apart in the GPT industry is the 6 level referral program. If you like free and easy money, check it out!!

How do I decide what GPT sites to use? I only have a couple of ground rules. First, I will only join one site per company/owner. Thus, I would not join Deal Ken Pays since I already am a member of Deal Barbie Pays. Secondly, I will not join anymore shiftcode sites since I am a member of DBP. Although there are literally hundreds of different owners of shiftcode sites, it is not worth the risk of completing duplicate offers and being banned. Lastly, I will wait for a site to be at least six months old before joining.
